The integrated design-build team of CES Construction and CES Consultants is designing, permitting, and constructing upgrades to the water distribution system via a Neighborhood Improvement Project for the Garden Isles Neighborhood within the PGA Golf Club Estates development for the Seacoast Utility Authority (SUA). The neighborhood has approximately 160 homes, was constructed in 1965, and is located just southwest of Military Trail and PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens. The existing water mains are 2”-8” asbestos cement-lined pipes and are at the end of their useful life. The existing pipes will be replaced with 6” and 8” ductile iron pipe along with associated fittings, valves, service lines, fire hydrants, and appurtenances. The majority of the work will be completed via open cut within the swales located in the right-of-way (ROW). There will be two horizontal directional drills under the bridges at the east neighborhood entrance on Larch Avenue and at the west neighborhood entrance on Hickory Drive. The project also includes the location and installation of sanitary sewer point of use clean-outs within the ROW for future access on all properties that do not have existing facilities.

Construction will be completed in two phases and includes the restoration of roadways, driveways, sidewalks, existing utilities, irrigation, sodding, landscaping, mailboxes, light poles, and thermo-striping to pre-construction conditions. Public outreach services are being provided by the CES Team throughout the entire project and include meetings with residents of the development. The Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans are designed to minimize customer impact with thoughtful design, construction practices, and community outreach.
