CES provided construction management services for the L-8 Dupuis Culvert Replacements of the G-261, G-262 and G-263 Structures. The structures consist of metal culverts through a Federal levee. These culverts had deteriorated and needed to be removed and replaced in kind. The work was in a very remote area East of Lake Okeechobee along the L-8 Canal.
CES provided resources to support the District PM with construction management services, including on-site representation, project documentation control, running meetings, and providing signed and sealed Construction Certificates of Completion.
While providing construction management services for this project, the methodology was to use the District-provided Primavera software as a document tracking and control system. This includes tracking submittals, Requests for Information, payment applications, meeting minutes and the inspector’s daily reports.
QA/QC was handled by CES’s CEI Project Manager. Weekly calls to the field representative were held and documentation review was completed on a regular basis to ensure that the procedures were being followed. Timely reviews and quality technical comments were essential to the project team efforts.
CES worked to ensure the work progressed according to schedule and budget and established clear lines of responsibility and communication with all project participants. Scheduling and document tracking and control software was utilized throughout, allowing the District PM to keep up with project progress and issues. CES was tasked with ensuring that the construction contractor stayed on budget and schedule; the project was completed on schedule and budget.
