CES performed physical assessments and data analysis services on this project led by the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP). In the previous phases of the Asset Management Program in 2005 and 2009, DEP representatives and consultants performed physical inspections of the DEP facilities to rate each asset on its criticality, physical condition, and performance. These services focused on DEP’s major facilities and infrastructure that fall under the jurisdiction of DEP’s Operating Bureaus. The Operating Bureaus are comprised of the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment (BWT), the Bureau of Water Supply (BWS), and the Bureau of Water and Sewer Operations (BWSO).
CES performed field assessment evaluations focusing on various wastewater treatment plants in various locations of New York as well as in up-state New York. These DEP projects involved the asset evaluation of various DEP bureaus including the Bureau of Water and Sewer operations and the Bureau of Wastewater Treatment.
The treatment plants assessed are located in New York City – 26th Ward, Port Richmond, Oakwood Beach; and in up-state New York- Margaretville, Pine Hill, Cannosville facilities, and Downsville facilities. Some of the assets evaluated were water shafts; tunnels connecting the facility, spill containments, grit chambers, primary settling tanks, aeration tanks, secondary clarifier tanks, tertiary treatment tanks, final settling tanks, digester tanks and thickener tanks as well as the building servicing the various facilities.
